Rangers have unearthed a gem in Hamza Igamane, but the young Moroccan is the type of signing who Nils Koppen knows won't be around for long, if he has done his job right.

After a gradual introduction to Philippe Clement's squad, the manager has given him a key role in recent games and is showing why the Belgian pleaded for patience.

After impressing against Spurs and Celtic, Igamane has been linked with four Premier League teams already with Graeme Bailey reporting that a fifth has joined the chase for the 22-year Rangers striker.

Everton send scouts to watch Rangers star Hamza Igamane

According to the transfer journalist, speaking to TBR, Everton are the latest admirers of a player tipped to earn full international recognition:

"Everton scouts were in attendance at Ibrox last week to watch Hamza Igamane score against Tottenham in the Europa League."

Alan Hutton once spoke about how a Spurs scout told him that domestic games were largely ignored when he was getting watched, and that European games were what mattered the most.

Igamane has been outstanding in the Europa League so far and it is little wonder he is attracting admiring glances.

How much should Rangers sell Igamane for?

When Rangers signed Igamane, Clement suggested that a rough diamond had been secured, but probably didn't expect him to sparkle quite as quickly:

"And Hamza, like I said, when we signed him, it’s a big talent.

"We had to do it now because if it would have been one year later, we could never afford that kind of players He’s coming straight out of a Moroccan competition, Moroccan culture.

"Everything is new for him. He was also injured when he came. So, it took time to get him more fit.

"And that’s what we’re going to do the next weeks and the next months, to give him opportunities to grow as a young player. But you see already a lot of good basic qualities."

Rangers have held on to players for too long in the past, another club record transfer fee would be accepted given Igamane’s Europa League performances, but it wouldn't really soften the blow of losing a player who could be a real fans favourite for years to come.
