Rangers star Ianis Hagi seems to be the subject of transfer advice from Romania on a regular basis.

The playmaker, who has forced his way back into Philippe Clement’s plans, was previously on the periphery and seemed to be constantly told to try and work his ticket from Ibrox.

Even now he is back in the team, some are advising Hagi to try and leave the club.

The latest club to be linked with the Rangers ace are Italian side Genoa, who have reportedly made him their top target.

Borussia Monchengladbach were recently named as favourites to land the 25-year-old but it would seem the Serie A side are now serious suitors too.

And the president of the Romanian FA has now had his say on what he thinks Hagi should do.

Rangers star Hagi ‘deserves’ big league move

As the son of Romanian legend Gheorghe and someone seen as the one of the nation’s top talent, Hagi is big news in his homeland.

During his Ibrox exile, the manager of Romania’s national team urged him to find a move.

And now, despite him getting regular game time again with Rangers, their President insists he deserves a move to a top league like Serie A.

Răzvan Burleanu said: “Whether Ianis Hagi ends up in Serie A or another strong championship, I think Ianis has already confirmed that he deserves this and that he needs it at some point, either this winter or in the summer.

“It all depends on his contractual situation with Rangers, he needs a challenge in this regard, but Ianis Hagi is ready to cope at the highest level and he has always demonstrated it when he entered the first team and made the difference.”

What Ianis Hagi has said about Rangers situation

Philippe Clement insists Hagi can keep evolving at Rangers and is just at the start of his resurgence.

Asked the question about his future, Hagi said: “I want to win.

"That's my goal in life in everything I do.

"I never take anything for granted and I'm not doing half-hearted anything.

"I think I've showed that in the my years that I've been here so I just want to win.

"This club wants to win so I think it goes without saying."
