Rangers are in the midst of a root to branch review of the club with visible progress starting to be made behind the scenes.
A new sporting director has been appointed in Kevin Thelwell with the San Francisco 49ers securing the shares needed to complete their takeover.
Everything is on track for the 49ers to be the new owners before the transfer window opens in June.
It will be a busy summer for Thelwell, if he takes the job that is, and he will be working alongside Nils Koppen on a considerably smaller budget than the one that he is used to.
What he will bring though is his own contacts book with one SPFL regular who has been linked with Rangers in the past a possible target to boost the homegrown quota.

Kevin Thelwell will know all about Rangers-linked Danny Armstrong
Koppen has addressed signing more Scottish players and it hasn't been a surprise to see Danny Armstrong's name mentioned in the past.
Last season, Kilmarnock quoted a six-figure fee for the 27-year old winger who qualifies as association trained through his various loan spells in Scotland.
At the time, Armstrong was in Wolverhampton Wanderers' academy, directed by none other than the incoming Rangers sporting director, Thelwell.
Kilmarnock returned to the Scottish Premiership and, under Derek McInnes, were an instant top-six side, however, they have struggled this season – despite their performances against Rangers.
One of the reasons for their drop down the table has been the drop in numbers from Armstrong in a season where he should be looking to impress potential new employers.
How has Armstrong performed for Kilmarnock this season?
In his first season in the top flight, Armstrong chipped in with 12 goals and 10 assists from the right wing, including scoring against Rangers.
Last season he produced similar numbers with nine goals and 14 assists, and it is easy to see why Rangers might have been keeping an eye on his contract situation.
He might not be a world beater, but these are better numbers than all but Vaclav Cerny or Abdallah Sima in terms of Rangers wingers in recent seasons.
In this campaign though, Armstrong has only managed one goal in nearly 30 games with just seven assists.
Last summer, Armstrong might have been on a list of names somewhere in Koppen's office, this year though, his name will have been rubbed off.
