The Loyal Royals had yet another win to react to on Saturday afternoon.

It's been said across Twitter a lot already, but the fact that we've only really played that well for one half out of six in the last three games, but come out with nine points, is a really strange feeling.

Ultimately, it's our first nine-point week since 2021, and the overriding feeling has to be one of optimism and happiness. However, at the back of my mind anyway, there's a niggling feeling that we need to up our game to keep picking up results consistently.

However, for now, the fans had a third victory in a row to react to - and, as I said, we have to enjoy these kinds of things because they don't happen very often in the world of Reading FC. Here's what the supporters had to say...

Andre Garcia

I've said before that I don't think Ruben Selles, in an ideal world, would be playing Garcia as much as he currently is. Garcia is still only 16 and learning on the job in an unfamiliar position, but on Saturday he put in his most assured performance yet.

It was clear that Bristol Rovers were targeting him aerially, particularly in the first half. But he stood up to that well, as well as he could, and showed a lot more going forward than we've been able to see in recent games.

The fans are certainly admiring the youngster's performances...

Joel Pereira

Let's not sugar coat it: Joel Pereira was a hell of a lot busier than he should've been in the last 20 minutes or so of Saturday's game.

However, we have one of the best shot-stoppers in this league between the sticks and he proved it yet again against Bristol Rovers.

Our game management needs to be better, but Pereira's saves to keep us 1-0 up were incredible. He's our undoubted number one now, and I for one am very glad about it - as are the rest of you it seems...

Nine-point week

What a feeling that is: our first nine-point week since 2021. We've been a good team at times in the last few years, but never been able to really build momentum in a short period and make it a consistent run of results, but now we have a really good chance to do that.

As mentioned previously, we haven't played amazingly well in the last three games, but we've got all three points in all of them and that's a sign of a good team. There still shouldn't be any pressure on this team to be towards the top of the table, but they keep winning games, and that's surely only a good thing. Here's how the fans reacted to another win...

Conclusion

I could sit here and really emphasise the fact that we haven't played as well as we could over the last three games, that the game management was actually quite poor on Saturday, and that we should've been able to put the game to bed a lot earlier than we did.

However, we've just won our third game on the trot. These players and staff continue to gain a bigger place in my heart with every passing game, and we're in the play-offs. If you can't be positive about that, what can you be positive about?
