There's a claim in the Turkish media that Trabzonspor are still showing interest in Southampton forward Paul Onuachu after being linked with the Nigeria international for around a year.
Earlier this week we covered reports that Onuachu is stalling on extending his contract with the Premier League side and could could open the door for the Super Lig side.
Gune Bakis have reported on the latest developments regarding Trabzonspor's pursuit for a centre forward as they look to make Simon Banza's move permanent.
The Frenchman is currently on loan with the Turkish side from SC Braga, but there are concerns the transfer fee set by the Portuguese club is too high.
Subsequently, Trabzonspor could again turn to Onuachu and it's reported they see the Southampton player as plan B. With the Nigerian stalling on extending his contract with the Saints they could look to take advantage of his situation.
The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor and impressed, scoring 17 goals in 25 appearances.
Since returning to England last summer he’s played 22 games, scoring 3 goals. Onuachu is contracted to Southampton until June 2026.
