AlthouRB Leipzig are 'very interested' in Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling and have put him 'high on the list' at the club.
That's according to journalist Phillip Hinze, who reports that the German side are very keen on the 18-year-old.
According to his information, Leipzig have Dibling high on their list of potential targets this month. The problem, though, is that he will be 'very expensive' to try and sign.
Southampton want to keep the highly rated youngster this season for a start. And if they were to sell him it would be for a 'significant sum'. That would be well over €30m.
That would make him a 'difficult transfer to implement' for Leipzig at this moment in time. The suggestion is that they could not afford such a deal.
Generally, the Bundesliga club are not hesitant to spending big on talent. Lois Openda is their record signing at €40m. Josko Gvardiol cost €36.8m. Dominik Szoboszlai was €36m and Dani Olmo cost €34.2m. They were 19, 20 and 21 when they were signed in recent years.
Castello Lukeba can likewise be added into that mix. He cost €30m to sign from Lyon in 2023 and was 20 at the time.
That shows a willingness to pay big sums for young talent and it seems Southampton want to ensure a similar fee for Dibling. Although Leipzig haven't stepped forward yet, he's on their list and a top target thanks to his performances this season.
