Stoke City loan man Nathan Lowe has drawn high praise from Walsall teammate Albert Adomah amid his solid start to life with the Saddlers.

Stoke City have seen young striker Lowe come all the way through the ranks at the Bet365 Stadium.

The 19-year-old starred at academy level and has made a total of 17 first-team appearances for the Potters, netting once. In a bid to find him more senior action, the decision was made to send him out on loan in the summer transfer window.

League Two side Walsall were the beneficiaries of this decision, bringing him in on a season-long deal in August. And, the youngster has made a solid start to life at Bescot Stadium.

In nine outings across all competitions, Stoke City loanee Lowe has four goals and an assist to his name. Last time out in the 2-0 win over Salford City, he scored one and set up the other.

The hope is that he can maintain these levels, and those around him at Walsall will be eager to have a positive impact on his development. One player hoping to do so is veteran Albert Adomah, whose vast experience is sure to be of great value to Lowe and the rest of Mat Sadler’s squad.

On behalf of The72, former QPR favourite Adomah spoke to Sky Bet about his desire to help the young players, focusing on how he is looking to help the Stoke City talent specifically. He said:

“Being an experienced player, players rely on you in a sense where they want to ask you questions, so I can only guide them in a way that it hopefully benefits them.

“With Nathan Lowe, in one of our cup games, we got a penalty and I wanted him to score to kickstart his goalscoring for Walsall. Unfortunately, he missed but he still managed to score two and got man of the match – that’s great character and shows that he’s got a good, strong head.

“I’m still learning off some of the younger players as well.”

Learning at Walsall

As Lowe gains valuable senior exposure away from Stoke City, he’ll be hoping to return from Walsall a better player. Learning from the likes of Adomah will be key in doing so.

There’s few players still in the game who offer the level of pedigree he does. The winger broke the record for Championship appearances while with QPR last season, playing 526 times in the division.

While his move to hand Lowe the penalty in the cup against Huddersfield Town might not have yielded instant results, it was a show of confidence in the young striker. His form since could be an early sign into how 36-year-old Adomah has helped the youngster.

Kicking on

After his impressive display in the Salford City triumph, Lowe will be out to put in another strong performance against Colchester United this weekend.

Stoke City fans will be willing him on from afar as the teenager bids to form a successful career in the game. His time at Walsall could prove valuable in eventually landing a role with the Potters in the future.

If he can hit really strong goalscoring form, that opportunity could come sooner rather than later with those back at his parent club already excited about what the future holds.
