Stoke City are looking to ‘put the feelers out’ regarding a potential swoop for Steve Cooper, according to reporter Alan Nixon.
Stoke City are on the lookout for their third manager of the season after deciding to part ways with Narcis Pelach over Christmas.
The move to sack Steven Schumacher and bring Pelach in was one met by surprise and ultimately, it goes down as yet another call made by the Potters hierarchy that has failed to pay off.
As such, in the wake of the defeat to Leeds United, the call to sack Pelach was made. Ryan Shawcross now leads the Championship side in the interim while the club work on another vital appointment.
Several bosses have already been linked with the Stoke City job and now, reports claim the club are plotting a move for Steve Cooper.
Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has said the Staffordshire outfit are looking to put the feelers out regarding a potential move for the Welshman, who is out of work after leaving Leicester City. It is viewed as a big drop for Cooper after his recent time in the Premier League but he could be turned to by the Potters.
It is added that Ryan Lowe is another in the Stoke City frame but he’s viewed as very similar to Schumacher, who they sacked earlier this season.
