The Northern Ireland defender became Sunderland's latest centurion against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday. Our writers share their personal highlights from his time on Wearside

Gav says…

I'd probably say my favourite Trai Hume moment was his goal against Luton in the playoff semi-final.

As a full back, he's not what you'd call a goal threat, but on this occasion he scored a canny header which gave us the win and the lead going into the second leg.

The Stadium of Light was rammed and the place went absolutely berserk when he scored. I'd actually say it's a bit of a shame for him that the first goal- an Amad rocket- took the shine off his (arguably more important) goal, because his was a cracking finish too.

I'm absolutely delighted that he's managed to reach 100 appearances for us.

He's gone from strength to strength over such a short space of time, and it's a real credit to him that he managed to make the move across from Ireland and adapt as quickly as he did to the English game.

Trai's story should give hope to other players on the other side of the water that they too can come over and hit the ground running. I've got no doubt that he'll play in the Premier League one day, hopefully with us, and the fact he's been able to establish himself for the national team and has even captained them from time to time is the icing on the cake.

John Wilson says…

So many great moments from Trai in his first 100 showings for the Lads.

I remember him coming on for one of his first games at Cheltenham. He was obviously nervous and didn't want to do anything other than 'the safe option', but I could almost sense him champing at the bit to bomb down the wing.

My most memorable moment (apart from when he grew that moustache) was when he wiped out James McClean when he won the ball against James McClean against Wigan in December 2023!

The only negative was that McClean got straight back up!
