Eliezer Mayenda scored the winner and Sunderland moved up to third in the table - here's how Andy rated the Lads!

Anthony Patterson: 8/10

Was a spectator for most of the night but came to the fore in the second half when Derby had a dangerous spell and made a couple of identical saves from headers.

Trai Hume: 6/10

Most of Derby's danger came down his side and the right back wasn't at his best tonight, with both he and Rigg seemingly missing Roberts' presence on the right wing.

Chris Mepham: 7/10

Steady at the back all night and wasn't caused many issues by Derby's front men, made a great block from a free kick in the second half.

Luke O'Nien: 6/10

Was cruising through the game until Derby's spell in the second half, switched to left back to allow Ballard to deal with Derby's new signing who was causing issues in the air.

Dennis Cirkin: 7/10

Defended well, with some good tackles from left back and got forward to good effect early on, combining well with Le Fee, but missed a couple of reasonable chances.

Dan Neil (C): 7/10

Was good on the ball all night and kept the ball ticking without ever being at his best.

Jobe Bellingham: 7/10

Got an assist after striding forward and finding Mayenda, then swept a great ball to Le Fee for the ghost goal. Not as involved tonight as he was against Burnley but still a good game alongside Neil.

Eliezer Mayenda: 6/10

Took his goal really well and worked hard off the ball but not much else from him tonight.

Enzo Le Fee: 7/10

Was really good in the first half, always causing problems with his dangerous passes and almost scored his first goal for us with a really good free kick. Should have had an assist after picking out Cirkin early on and then again with the ghost goal after laying the ball off for Isidor.

Chris Rigg: 6/10

I thought he was quite often too sloppy on the ball, struggled to retain possession and the best thing he did during the game was set Jobe away for the opener and even that came from Rigg giving the ball away initially but then doing well to make up for it and win it back.

Wilson Isidor: 7/10

Struggled to get involved in the game but still showed how dangerous he can be. Smashed a swerving shot at the goalkeeper in the first half, ran from his own box once again and was only stopped by a combination of desperate goalkeeper and defending, then smashed in what should have been a goal but was disallowed for no particular reason.

Substitutes

Dan Ballard: 7/10

Came on when Derby had a dangerous spell and stopped the home side's target man from threatening again.

Patrick Roberts: 7/10

Was really good after his introduction, carrying the ball up the pitch and taking the sting out of the home side.

Salis Abdul Samed: 6/10

Came on for his league debut and was a composed presence in the middle of the park.

Leo Hjelde: N/A

Helped us see out the game.

Man of the Match: Anthony Patterson

Was barely involved for most of the game but made two game winning saves when Derby were piling the pressure on in the second half, then came out quickly a couple of times to clear danger, once with his head and then punched the ball clear in injury time.
