Sunderland suffered a second defeat of the season despite controlling the second half at Vicarage Road. Here's how Andy rated the Lads…

Anthony Patterson: 6/10

Made a couple of saves that you'd expect him to make early on, no chance with the first goal and got close to the penalty. Did flap at a cross just after Isidor's goal. Managed a header on target in injury time.

Trai Hume: 5/10

Started off poorly, beaten down his side for the cross that led to the opener but grew into the game and was much better after the break.

Chris Mepham: 6/10

Steady all game without looking as impressive as he did against Boro last week.

Luke O'Nien: 7/10

Our best defender today, won pretty much everything that came his way.

Dennis Cirkin: 5/10

Set up an early chance for Isidor with a good cross but was missing in action for the first goal, had drifted into the middle of the goal leaving the goalscorer all alone. Had some trouble with the wingers, like Hume, before the break but also grew into the game.

Dan Neil (C): 4/10

Had done a steady job in the middle of the pitch on the ball and had kept Chakvetadze quiet but then threw away the game with a really stupid tackle inside the box when he had shepherded the player to the byline.

Jobe Bellingham: 5/10

Struggled to get into the game, had one shot comfortably saved but couldn't influence the game enough.

Patrick Roberts: 7/10

Got an assist after picking out Isidor and caused the home side problems down the right, mostly coming after they had already taken the lead.

Chris Rigg: 5/10

A quiet game for Rigg, who struggled to get involved like Jobe. Was given a great chance by Isidor right after the break but just let it drift by. Had a couple of efforts go comfortably over.

Romaine Mundle: 7/10

Thought he had another good game, although not quite at the standard he's been at this season. Had one good shot well saved after cutting inside.

Wilson Isidor: 7/10

Not hugely involved but it seemed like every time the ball went towards him he was involved in a chance. Along with his well taken goal, he also toe poked a Cirkin chance wide, beat Ogbonna and steered a shot just wide and then set up Rigg for a good chance immediately after the break.

Substitutes

Nazariy Rusyn: 6/10

Chased down Ogbonna really well just after coming on, won the ball but couldn't quite get away.

Ian Poveda: 6/10

Looked lively after coming on, showing quick feet.

Tommy Watson: 6/10

Wasn't on for long but had a couple of trademark driving runs, one inside and one to the outside.

Man of the Match: Wilson Isidor

His first competitive start and celebrated with his first goal for the club, a smartly taken goal at the near post. Could easily have had a hat-trick too, with a toe poke just wide early on from Cirkin's cross and then after driving past Ogbonna and steering an effort just wide of the far post. Also made a chance for Rigg who couldn't capitalise on it.
