Sunderland return to Championship action this weekend against Millwall, looking to return to winning ways after suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat at Coventry before the international break.

Regis Le Bris' side currently sit fourth in the league on 69 points with eight games to go and will be hoping to seal a play-off spot in the coming weeks.

Dennis Cirkin is set to be out of action after picking up a hamstring injury at Coventry, which also ruled him out of making his England under-21 debut.

Right-back Trai Hume is also a doubt after being withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad due to a hip injury, and January signing Enzo Le Fee could make his return to action after a month on the side-lines.

Millwall are currently six points off a play-off spot and could make a late charge in the remaining eight fixtures.

The Lions are led by former Sunderland boss Alex Neil. Neil has been in charge of 18 games for Millwall this season winning eight, drawing four and losing six.

Aaron Connolly will also make his return to the Stadium of Light after a short stint on Wearside earlier in the season. Former club captain George Honeyman and former forward Duncan Watmore are both doubts.

Whilst Sunderland suffered defeat last time out, Millwall picked up three points against Stoke with a late penalty converted by Mihailo Ivanovic.

Back in November when the two dies met at The Den, Sunderland suffered a late blow as Femi Azeez scored a late equaliser for the Lions moments after Milan Aleksic missed a huge chance to put the game to bed.

Kick-off is at 3pm on Saturday from the Stadium of Light.
