Sunderland have their eyes set on Fiorentina youngster Eddy Kouadio, according to Africa Foot.
The 18-year-old has been climbing through the ranks of the Italian club’s youth system but hasn’t yet made an appearance for their first team.
Kouadio has still managed to catch the attention of Sunderland, who are interested to sign him.
The report states the Championship side have been in talks with Fiorentina and ‘want to seal the deal’ before the end of this season.
At this point in time, the Black Cats haven’t made an official proposal to La Viola. They are in talks with Fiorentina to try and reach an agreement in principle as soon as possible.
According to Africa Foot, Régis Le Bris’ side plan to offer a five-year deal to the Italy U19 international. They make no mention of Fiorentina’s request or the fee that Sunderland are willing to offer for the youngster.
Operating as a centre-back and a right-back, Kouadio has been a regular for Fiorentina Primavera this season, making 32 appearances in all competitions.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the Italian or the English media will back up this claim.
