Former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is looking to raid former club for their star attacker in the summer.

Spurs have had a poor season, having knocked out of all domestic competitions and currently sitting 14th in the league, much closer to relegation than European football.

The only hope to salvage their current season is the Europa League, where they have qualified for the quarter-finals and are set to face Frankfurt. Winning the Europa League is the only way to ensure qualification for next season's Champions League.

Ange has already been told winning the Europa League is crucial to save his job at Spurs as pressure mounts on the Australian.

If Spurs fail to qualify for next season's Champions League football, they will find it hard to retain their top players. Cristian Romero is already attracting interest from both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid while Rodrigo Bentancur is also attracting interest from top European clubs.

Dejan Kulusevski is latest to be linked with a move away with Napoli emerging as top contenders to sign him.

According to the latest report from Italian news outlet TuttoJuve, the Napoli manager has eyes set on signing Kulusevski in the upcoming transfer window.

It is reported that Conte has told the club hierarchy to sign the Swede international as a priority signing, demanding a more competitive squad to compete on multiple fronts next season.

Kulusevski has been fantastic for Tottenham despite struggles

The Swedish international has been one of Tottenham's top performers this season, despite the poor form of the club.

He has made 42 appearances this season, scoring 10 and assisting, earning praise from fans and pundits alike, including former club scout Mick Brown, who has praised his performances this season despite the club's struggles.

He also claimed that while it will take a huge fee for Spurs to sell him, the player himself will be open to a move away if an opportunity arises.

He told Football Insider:

"All players want to play at the top level. He's consistently been their best player whenever I've seen them.

"Even while his team has been struggling, he's one player who's turned in some really impressive performances for them.

"What happens down the road in terms of his future, stranger things have happened.

"I think Tottenham have to see where they finish the season, it looks unlikely they're going to qualify for Europe, and then assess what they can and can't do.

"It would probably take a huge fee to convince them to sell Kulusevski.

"But and I think he'd be open to a move if one came up, and there isn't any shortage of interest in him from some of the top clubs."
