Even later than the latest Tottenham transfer talk

Hello folks.

Straight into the latest transfer news and updates surrounding Tottenham Hotspur as of January 6, 2025.

Vicario's Recovery Progress

In positive news, Guglielmo Vicario has shared an encouraging update on his recovery.

The Italian goalkeeper posted a video of himself walking without crutches, indicating significant progress since his injury in November.

The club hopes to have him back between the sticks by late February suggests TalkSport, but I think it might be a week or two later than that..

Interest in Randal Kolo Muani

Reports suggest that Tottenham are exploring the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Randal Kolo Muani.

Chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange have reportedly travelled to France to negotiate a deal worth around £55 million.

That of course is the suggestion of the press who haven't been told that, but if you were them, would you go to negotiate with centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov first and then move on to Randal Kolo Muani?

Kolo Muani, 26, has struggled to find form at Ligue 1 giants PSG, and a move to the Premier League could offer him a fresh start.

His versatility to play both centrally and on the wings would be a valuable addition to our attacking options.

Pursuit of Defensive Talent: Abdukodir Khusanov

Tottenham are reportedly interested in Abdukodir Khusanov.

The 20-year-old Uzbekistan international has impressed in Ligue 1, attracting attention from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea.

Lens is open to selling Khusanov for a fee around £20 million.

Given our current defensive injury woes, Khusanov could provide much-needed depth and talent to our backline.

Speculation Surrounding Evan Ferguson

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson is linked with a move to Tottenham again.

Club insider John Wenham has expressed hope that Spurs can secure Ferguson's services, despite competition from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Brighton previously quoted a £100 million fee for the 20-year-old, indicating the high regard in which he is held.

One goal in 12 games this season reduces that price or it should. He was never a "100 million player in the first place.

Ferguson could offer a promising option to bolster our attacking lineup.

Managerial Backing and Transfer Strategy

Despite a challenging season, the Tottenham board are fully supportive of manager Ange Postecoglou, unlike many fans who want instant success or change, which isn't helping the club in the slightest.

Plans are in place to strengthen the squad during the January and Summer transfer windows.

The recent acquisition of Czech goalkeeper Antonín Kinský is part of this strategy, with further signings anticipated to help turn our season around and build for the future.

Barcelona's Interest in Heung-Min Son

Recent reports indicate that Barcelona are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-Min Son on a free transfer in the summer.

Son's contract is set to end on June 30th, allowing him to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs this month.

The 32-year-old forward has been a pivotal figure for Spurs, and losing him would be a significant blow some would say.

However, I'd disagree.

He has not been at his best since he took on the captaincy, only showing flashes of the player we know.

Goals (7) and assists (6) have come, but also misses and a penalty failure.

Overall assessment, below par.

It is time to move on.

We should have sold him last summer when we could have got a fee.

There are other captains.

Barcelona's financial constraints mean they are focusing on free agents to bolster their squad.

Harry Kane's Desire for Reunion with Son

Former Tottenham striker Harry Kane, now at Bayern Munich, recently expressed a desire to reunite with Son Heung-Min in Germany.

When asked which former teammate he would like to see join him at Bayern, Kane promptly named Son.

This revelation adds another layer of speculation regarding Son's future.

£192K a week, plus bonuses for what, sentiment?

If Tottenham fans want a ready-made or World-class replacement, then we can't be paying underperformers over £200,000 a week including bonuses.

There is a one-year extension clause in his contract that Spurs could trigger.

Negotiations have taken place because he wanted a two-year contract.

I'd suggest that Postecoglou has been waiting to see how alternatives perform, but Timo Werner in particular has not taken his chance while Wilson Odobert and teenager Mikey Moore have been injured.

Stay tuned for more updates as the January transfer window progresses.
