Tottenham may find themselves in a tough situation as questions arise about the future of their star midfielder, Dejan Kulusevski.

Former club scout Mick Brown has hinted that several elite European teams are closely following Kulusevski's situation at the North London club.

The Swedish international has attracted widespread interest due to his exceptional performances, even as Spurs struggles to find form in the Premier League.

With six defeats in their last seven league games, the Lilywhites are languishing in 15th place, only eight points clear of the relegation zone. If their poor run continues and they miss out on European qualification next season, it could lead to several star players wanting an exit, including Kulusevski.

Mick Brown: Dejan Kulusevski will be open to a move away

Brown believes Tottenham would demand a 'huge' fee for the 24-year-old, but Kulusevski might be tempted by a move to a club consistently competing at the highest level.

His consistent contributions, despite Spurs' difficulties, have made him an even more attractive prospect for potential buyers.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown said:

"All players want to play at the top level.

"He's consistently been their best player whenever I've seen them.

"Even while his team has been struggling, he's one player who's turned in some really impressive performances for them.

"What happens down the road in terms of his future, stranger things have happened.

"I think Tottenham have to see where they finish the season, it looks unlikely they're going to qualify for Europe, and then assess what they can and can't do.

"It would probably take a huge fee to convince them to sell Kulusevski.

"But and I think he'd be open to a move if one came up, and there isn't any shortage of interest in him from some of the top clubs."

The Spurs star hailed as 'outstanding' by Ange, originally joined the Lilywhites on an 18-month loan from Juventus in January 2022. He made an immediate impact, registering five goals and eight assists in just 18 league appearances. His impressive form led Spurs to make the deal permanent in June 2023, securing his contract until 2028.

This season, despite the team's struggles, Kulusevski has been one of Tottenham's brightest performers. He has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 35 matches across all competitions.

His influence extends beyond these numbers, ranking second in key passes (58) and shot-creating actions (113), while also placing second in progressive carries with 104 in the division.

As Spurs navigate this challenging campaign, retaining Kulusevski will be vital for Ange Postecoglou's ambitions. However, with top clubs like AC Milan expressing interest and Tottenham facing the risk of missing European football, the coming months could see a twist in the talented midfielder's career.
