Tottenham Hotspur's ongoing injury concerns have been a recurring issue throughout the season.

The attention has turned to the Spurs' new defensive addition Kevin Danso, who may have sustained a minor knock.

Kevin Danso may have picked up a knock

Journalist Marcus Buckland has suggested that there are rumours surrounding Danso's fitness following the weekend's fixture.

While no official confirmation has been provided, further updates are expected in the coming days.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Buckland remarked:

"So there were some encouraging signs there. I don't know. I've heard a rumour that Danso might have picked up a little bit of a knock.

"We will find out more about that later in the week."

Danso has impressed since joining Tottenham

Since joining the Lilywhites on loan from Lens last month—on a deal that includes an obligation to buy—Danso has quickly become an important part of the defensive setup. The 26-year-old has featured in seven matches for Tottenham since his arrival, offering stability at the back during a crucial phase of the season.

He was in the starting lineup for Tottenham's recent 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, where he partnered Cristian Romero in central defence before Micky van de Ven replaced the Argentine in the second half.

The Austrian defender had a decent outing over the 90 minutes, completing 39 of his 44 passes with an 89% accuracy rate. He also won both of his tackles, recorded eight clearances, made 12 defensive interventions, and contributed three recoveries.

Although the return of Romero and Van de Ven is a positive development, Danso's availability remains critical as Spurs prepare for their must-win Europa League Round of 16 second leg against AZ Alkmaar. With Tottenham trailing in the tie, defensive solidity will be essential in overturning the deficit.

Given that both Romero and Van de Ven are just returning from injuries, fielding them together without Danso could leave the backline vulnerable to inconsistency.

As Spurs aim to progress to the quarter-finals, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping Danso's knock is not serious and that he remains available for the crucial midweek clash.
