Tottenham have emerged as strong contenders to sign Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi during the ongoing January transfer window.
The 25-year-old Italian international, who has struggled for regular playing time this season, is reportedly seeking a fresh start, and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.
As per Inter Live, the Italian club value him around €45-50m and don't plan to offer discounts, especially to league rivals.
Reports suggest that Spurs are prepared to make a "significant offer" for Frattesi, with TV Play claiming that Ange Postecoglou's side is ready to bid €32 million to secure his services "immediately."
Despite stiff competition, Tottenham are reportedly in the 'front row' and remain confident they can negotiate a lower fee. Frattesi is said to be "ready to pack his bags" and would be interested in joining Spurs if an agreement is reached with Inter.
Frattesi joined Inter Milan after a stellar stint at Sassuolo and was part of Inter's title-winning squad last season. He made a significant impact during his loan spell, including a goal on his debut in the 5–1 Derby della Madonnina win over AC Milan and a last-gasp winner against Udinese.
This season, however, Frattesi has found opportunities hard to come by under Simone Inzaghi, starting only a handful of matches. Despite limited playing time, he has managed three goals and one assist in 16 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League.
Frattesi's overall record at Inter includes 11 goals and eight assists in 58 appearances. Across his career, he has amassed 55 goals and 25 assists in 322 games, highlighting his ability to make meaningful contributions in the attacking third.
His versatility, work rate, and ability to impact games from midfield make him an appealing prospect for Tottenham, especially as manager Ange Postecoglou continues to rebuild and reshape the squad.
While Frattesi reportedly favours a move to AS Roma, his boyhood club, he remains open to the idea of joining Spurs. A switch to North London would offer him the chance to test himself in the Premier League, while Tottenham would gain a player capable of adding depth and quality to their midfield.
Tottenham's pursuit of Frattesi aligns with their broader transfer objectives as they look to strengthen their squad for a push toward Champions League qualification.
While negotiations with Inter Milan are expected to continue in the coming weeks, Spurs will hope to strike a deal quickly, especially with multiple clubs monitoring the situation.
As the transfer window heats up, all eyes will be on whether Tottenham can outmaneuver their competitors and secure the signing of one of Italy's most exciting midfield talents.
