Tottenham 1-2 Leicester player ratings: 3/10 Spurs star disappoints as Ange pressure increases
Yesterday at 10:56 AM
The pressure on Ange Postecoglou ramped up as his Tottenham Hotspur side fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Leicester City on Sunday.
Spurs took the lead in the 33rd minute through Richarlison but two goals in four minutes just after half-time from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannous — both assisted by Bobby De Cordova-Reid put the visitors into a shock lead.
The Lilywhites rarely looked like overturning the result and have now lost six of their last seven Premier League matches, taking just one point during that run.
With Spurs 15th and just eight points ahead of the relegation zone — not to mention a massive 17 points adrift of the top four — the pressure on Postecoglou's job is now red hot.
Here are the full Tottenham player ratings from another disappointing performance:
Tottenham player ratings
Antonin Kinsky – 4/10 – Really poor on Leicester's first goal and didn't take command of his box, failing to claim a few routine crosses.
Pedro Porro – 7/10 – Should've been marked higher with a dynamic attacking performance that included the assist for Richarlison's goal and hitting the bar with a free-kick. However, it was his hospital pass that let Leicester in for their second goal.
Radu Dragusin – 7/10 – Better on the ball than usual, creating two chances and completing 89% of his passes. Wasn't at fault for either goal.
Ben Davies – 3/10 – Just kept backing off for Leicester's second goal, which came after failing to intercept the cross for their first.
Archie Gray – 6/10 – Played in two different positions and did a good job in both given the circumstances. This tough run will do the 18-year-old a world of good long-term.
Pape Sarr – 5/10 – Lacked quality on the ball at times and struggled to shut down Leicester counter attacks.
Rodrigo Bentancur – 5/10 – Was an absolute mess with the ball early on but settled to deliver a steady performance. Sold short by Porro on Leicester's second goal. Still looks a little off it physically.
Lucas Bergvall – 7/10 – Like Gray, Bergvall is doing well in a tough situation. Created two chances, completed 90% of his passes and played seven passes into the final third, while making seven recoveries, three interceptions and one clearance.
Dejan Kulusevski – 6/10 – Did well in a few short bursts and nearly pulled Spurs level when he raced behind the Leicester defence, but was denied by Jakub Stolarczyk. But overall, far too quiet.
Richarlison – 8/10 – An isolated figure at times but took his goal brilliantly and worked hard for the team. The fans were not happy with Postecoglou's decision to bring him off.
Son Heung-min – – Almost put Spurs ahead in the 17th minute with a powerful effort from distance after a driving run inside. Kept trying to make things happen and was lively, but lacked some composure and quality with the ball, which is unusual for him.
Substitutes:
Mikey Moore (54′, for Richarlison) – 5/10 – Put himself about and looked lively without really doing much of note. Almost pulled Spurs level in stoppage time but his effort was saved, while the offside flag went up anyway.
Sergio Reguilon (54′, for Sarr) – 5/10 – Sloppy with the ball but caused a few problems with some driving forward runs on the left.
