Tottenham in talks to sign 25-year-old with unique "combination of intelligence and talents"

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David at the end of the season. 

The 25-year-old Canadian International will be out of contract in the summer, and he has decided not to renew his contract with the French outfit. He has been linked with multiple clubs in recent months and a report from Le 10 Sport claims that Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are in active and concrete talks to sign the player. 

Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer would be a masterstroke for Tottenham if they can get the deal across the line. They could certainly use more depth in the attack and having another reliable goalscorer would be ideal. 

The 25-year-old has proven himself to be one of the best strikers in European football, and he has 23 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season. 

Jonathan David would improve Spurs

Tottenham need more quality and depth in the side if they want to fight for major trophies and a top-class player like David could transform them in the attack. The striker will want to test at a higher level as well, and a move to the Premier League would be ideal for him at this stage of his career. The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United could provide him with the platform to compete in European football and fight for trophies regularly. 

The player is highly rated across Europe, and Jesse Marsch has described him as a player with a unique "combination of intelligence and talents."

It will be interesting to see where he ends up. The opportunity to sign him on a free transfer can be quite tempting and all three clubs will want to get the deal across the line. Spurs will need to convince the player of their ambitions and offer him a lucrative deal as well.
