Tottenham 'in the running' to sign €20 million-rated Chelsea target

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the RC Lens central defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
The 20-year-old is highly rated in France and he has a bright future ahead of himself. According to a report from Le10Sport, Tottenham and Chelsea are in the running to sign the central defender. The player is valued at €20 million and the English club. Certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done.
Tottenham need more depth in the central defence and the 20-year-old would be a long-term investment for them. Currently, they have three reliable central defenders – Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin. They need another central defender to complete the defensive unit for the foreseeable future and Khusanov could be the perfect addition for them.
The young defender has already shown his quality in the French league, and he has the physicality and technical attributes to succeed in England as well. Tottenham would do well to secure his signature. The reported asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his potential and he could prove to be a major bargain in the long term.
Chelsea are keen on signing the player as well, and it remains to be seen if they can win the race for his signature. They have more financial resources compared to Tottenham. They need to replace players like Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi. The 20-year-old seems like the ideal fit in theory.
It will be interesting to see whether the talented young defender ends up. He needs to join a club where he will get ample first-team opportunities. Regular exposure to English could accelerate develop development and help him fulfil his world-class potential.
