Tottenham have identified Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi as a potential target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
With a track record of successful signings from Serie A, Spurs appear eager to continue their strategy of strengthening their squad with Italian talent.
Tottenham prepared to make significant offer to sign Davide Frattesi
As reported by Inter Live, Tottenham are prepared to make a 'significant offer' of approximately €35 million to bring Frattesi to North London.
The 25-year-old joined Inter on a permanent transfer from Sassuolo in July for €31.4 million, following an impressive loan spell where he played a pivotal role in the club's success.
The report claims that an offer like that will be difficult to reject for the Serie A giants, who would be profiting on him.
Frattesi's time on loan included several standout moments, such as scoring on his debut in Inter's commanding 5–1 Derby della Madonnina victory over AC Milan and delivering a crucial stoppage-time winner against Udinese.
He also contributed to Inter's Serie A title triumph and played a part in securing the Supercoppa Italiana, further cementing his reputation as a high-impact player.
However, the Italian international has struggled for regular starts under Simone Inzaghi this season. While Frattesi has made 16 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League, contributing three goals and one assist, his limited playing time has reportedly drawn interest from clubs like Tottenham.
Since joining Inter, he has scored 11 goals and assisted 8 in 58 games, taking his overall career tally across all competitions and levels to 55 goals and 25 assists in 322 games. (Transfermarkt)
Spurs are reportedly well-placed to offer Frattesi a more lucrative wage than his current €2.8 million annual salary at Inter due to their financial strength.
Tottenham want to upgrade their midfield
Ange Postecoglou's side is keen to bolster their midfield, and Frattesi's combination of technical skill, physicality, and versatility makes him an appealing choice.
His proven ability to deliver in high-stakes situations could add valuable depth and quality to the club's squad.
Despite signing Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray in the summer, they failed to sign another midfielder, having been strongly linked with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Jacob Ramsey. They even made a player-plus-cash offer for Ramsey, including Giovani Lo Celso as part of the deal. However, Aston Villa swiftly rejected that offer.
The move would not only address their midfield needs but also provide Frattesi with an opportunity to excel on a new stage in the English top flight.
