Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero stirred up controversy on social media following the team's 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the North London derby.

After the defeat, Romero briefly retweeted a post on X that appeared to criticise the Spurs management.

The original post, from Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul, suggested dissatisfaction with how Tottenham handled the return of their international players.

According to the journalist, Spurs failed to arrange proper travel for players coming back from international duty, leaving Romero and others to manage their own transportation.

The post also claimed that Tottenham was the only Premier League club to take this approach, which allegedly put their players at a disadvantage due to reduced rest time.

Romero's frustration seemed understandable, especially after a difficult game in which Arsenal's Gabriel scored the winning goal. Romero struggled to defend the set-piece and later claimed he had been fouled, though this did little to shield him from criticism.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher also weighed in, criticising Romero's form, calling it "very poor" early in the season.

Although Romero swiftly deleted the post, screenshots had already circulated online, sparking speculation about possible unrest within the club.

Despite this controversy, Romero later posted a message to fans, expressing gratitude for their support and urging everyone to stick together during tough times.

As Tottenham look to turn their season around, Romero's social media activity has added another layer of drama to the challenges facing the squad.
