Tottenham have been dealt another setback as Timo Werner is set to miss the North London derby against Arsenal tomorrow due to a hamstring injury sustained in the FA Cup win over Tamworth.

This injury adds to Spurs' ongoing injury crisis, which has plagued their squad throughout the season.

Tottenham's defensive unit has been heavily impacted, with star centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero sidelined. Full-backs Ben Davies and Destiny Udogie are also unavailable, leaving manager Ange Postecoglou short of options in the backline.

Midfield dynamo Rodrigo Bentancur is another significant absentee after suffering a concussion in Spurs' recent League Cup victory over Liverpool.

In attack, there's a glimmer of hope as young prospect Mikey Moore made his return against Tamworth, while Richarlison has been declared fit for selection after missing several weeks due to injury.

However, Timo Werner has picked up an injury, with the German ruled out of the game against Arsenal, after picking an injury against Tamworth.

Ange Postecoglou confirms injury to Timo Werner

Speaking to the press ahead of the game against the Gunners, Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Richarlison is going to be available for selection but also confirmed the German international's hamstring injury, with scan results pending.

He said (via Football London):

"The only one who picked up an injury was Timo [Werner]. It's a hamstring injury and we're waiting on the results of that scan. In terms of incoming, Richy is available."

Spurs head into the derby on a high, having recorded two consecutive victories: a hard-fought League Cup win over Liverpool and a 3-0 triumph against Tamworth in the FA Cup.

They face an Arsenal side marred with injuries and out of form. They are winless in 3 games, having drawn one and lost the last two – a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the League Cup and an FA Cup defeat on penalties against Manchester United.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have struggled recently, failing to win in their last three outings. They drew to Brighton and then suffered back to back defeats against Newcastle in the League Cup and Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Adding to Arsenal's woes, key players Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka are unavailable. Jesus sustained a serious knee injury against United, while Saka isn't expected to return until March.

Despite the injury troubles on both sides, the North London derby promises to be a fiercely contested affair.
