Liverpool face Southampton this weekend in the Premier League, and there are no prizes for guessing who are favourites heading into this game.

Indeed, Liverpool head into this one top of the league, while Southampton are rock bottom.

Of course, anything can happen in the Premier League, but this may be a case of 'how many will Liverpool win by?' rather than 'will Liverpool win?'.

Speaking on his TikTok page, Troy Deeney has been previewing this game, and, inevitably he backed Liverpool to get a result here.

Deeney says he thinks Liverpool will win 5-0 here, and he reckons that Mohamed Salah will be amongst the goals.

Salah has been tipped as a potential Ballon d'Or winner after his incredible start to the season.

"Oh mate, Liverpool all day, and comfortably as well," Deeney said.

"No Ramsdale for Southampton, he's out. I think Mohamed Salah will have a field day. Having watched Southampton against Wolves they were awful. This could be a big oe you know. I might have to triple captain Salah in Fantasy, that's how bad it is. I think they win 5-0."

Mohamed Salah's record vs Southampton

Deeney reckons the £34m man will cause Southampton all sorts of problems, and history suggests he may be right.

Indeed, Salah has a brilliant record against Southampton over the years, averaging a goal contribution per game.

Only one Liverpool player has scored more goals against Southampton in Premier League history – Robbie Fowler, and Salah could break that record on Sunday if he bags a brace.

While Salah's overall record against Southampton is stellar, his recent record against the Saints isn't as impressive.

Indeed, Salah hasn't scored a goal against Southampton since the 2019/20 season, failing to find the net in five consecutive appearances.

However, with Southampton in such poor form at the moment, as Deeney says, it wouldn't be a shock if the Egyptian tore Russell Martin's side to bits this weekend.
