Arne Slot says Dennis Bergkamp was his idol
Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo, Slot revealed that former Arsenal playmaker Dennis Bergkamp was his absolute idol growing up.
The Liverpool boss admitted that he watched a lot of his compatriot alongside Thierry Henry, who was on the CBS panel.
Bergkamp, who made 422 appearances for The Gunners, is widely considered as one of the most elegant players to ever grace the Premier League.
John Hartson famously said the Arsenal legend wouldn’t leave any footprints if he played in the snow – evincing his ability to glide on the pitch.
Slot starting to show his personality more
Slot is now really beginning to show his charisma and humour in the media and that was evident in the CBS interview.
Earlier this season, he cut a calm figure on the touchline but in recent weeks, he’s become much more animated.
Perhaps he’s starting to feel more comfortable in his new role, which can only be a good thing for Liverpool.
