Tottenham suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.

The Gunners were struggling with an injury crisis and they were without seven first team players.

Mikel Arteta's men were expected to have a difficult time winning a single point, let alone all three points.

However, thanks to Gabriel's goal in the second half, the Gunners beat their rivals in a statement win.

Spurs defender Christian Romero was unhappy with the result and his social media activity after the match would have raised eyebrows at the club.

The Argentinian defender suggested that he was tired and blamed the club's travel arrangements during the international break.

The defender was unhappy with the club's travel plans as they did not provide him a private jet to return earlier from international duty.

Other clubs often arrange for their players to return quickly following their international commitments by providing a separate facility for transport.

The Lilywhites avoid that and Romero feels that could be the reason behind their defeat against their biggest rivals.

Cristian Romero hits out at Tottenham with deleted post after Arsenal loss.

Romero shared a post on X from Argentinian TV reporter Gaston Edul which said:

'Tottenham lost to Arsenal again. They weren't able to fight until the end because they weren't across the details.

'It was the only Premier League club that made their international players return, on their own and without proper logistics, on the decision of the club's leadership.

'They gave away the advantage because their players arrived with less rest than the others: Cuti Romero played with tiredness.'

Tottenham defender Christian Romero deleted the post.

The defender later deleted the post but only after fans had taken screenshots of his activity on social media.

It is a worrying result for Spurs and manager Ange Postecoglou, who failed to threaten their rivals who were without so many first team players.

Tottenham players should not use this as an excuse

The message Romero shared on social media after the match would be a huge cause of concern for the club chiefs, who might think about arranging for private travel for their players to keep them fresh.

Spurs or Romero should not use this as an excuse though, since their rivals were missing several key players and they were playing with a makeshift midfield. They had bigger problems than Spurs but still managed to come out on top.
