Euro giants plot surprise move for Liverpool star with 31-G/A last season

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid Madrid are looking to bring in another quality attacker and they have identified the Liverpool striker as an option.
Diego Simeone wants to sign the Uruguayan international and it will be interesting to see if Atletico Madrid decide to make a move for him in the near future.
The 25-year-old has not been a regular starter under Arne Slot and he could be tempted to leave the club if there is a concrete proposal ahead of him.
Atletico Madrid are a big club and they could provide him with the platform to push for major trophies regularly. If they can provide him with gametime assurances, the South American could be attracted to the idea of joining them. Moving to a Spanish-speaking country would be an added incentive for the player.
Darwin Nunez could improve Atletico Madrid
Nunez has impressed with his overall footballing ability since joining the club from Benfica, but his finishing leaves a lot to be desired. He missed several clear-cut chances last season and Liverpool could certainly use a more reliable finisher. It will be interesting to see if they decide to cash in on the former Benfica striker and sign an upgrade.
The striker scored 18 goals last season and picked up 13 assists along the way. There is no doubt that he could develop into a complete forward with the right guidance and a move to Atletico Madrid could bring out the best in him.
Perhaps, the striker needs a fresh start. Working under a world-class manager like Simeone could help him improve as well. The Argentine manager admires the speed and aggression of the Liverpool attacker and it will be interesting to see if he can get the Spanish outfit to secure his signature.
