TBR Football can exclusively reveal that out of a whole host of Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Evan Ferguson on loan in January, only one of them have made contact with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal are considering signing Evan Ferguson on loan in January alongside the likes of Fulham and West Ham United. West Ham earmarked Brighton’s Ferguson as one of their three striker targets alongside Jonathan Burkardt and Yuri Alberto.

Manchester City’s interest in Evan Ferguson in the winter window on a permanent deal to serve as a backup to Erling Haaland also emerged two weeks ago.

West Ham make contact about January loan for Evan Ferguson

TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey has been informed that while a number of Premier League clubs are ready to open talks about completing a loan move for Evan Ferguson in January, West Ham are the only side to have made contact with Brighton.

TBR Football understands that Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on Ferguson’s situation at the Amex Arena.

Sources have notified TBR Football that Brighton are now considering whether to let him leave on loan and then include options in any potential deal such as making the move permanent.

Ian Wright would love Brighton’s Ferguson at Arsenal but he has just made four starts in total for the Seagulls this season with Fabian Huerzeler preferring Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro over him up front.

How many goals did Evan Ferguson score in 2024?

The 20-year-old would have been happy to see the back of 2024.

Last year, Ferguson scored just one goal, which came against Wolves in a 2-2 draw in the league.

But aside from that, the Irishman suffered a month-long ankle injury and made just 15 league starts last season while this campaign, it seems like Fabian Huerzeler does not fancy him as his starting number nine.

All eyes will be on whether West Ham’s proactiveness will be rewarded in their pursuit for Ferguson or whether the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle will beat them to his signature on loan.
