Exclusive: Liverpool ask about attacker who Jamie Carragher thinks is the most exciting player in Europe

Liverpool have now asked about signing a forward who Jamie Carragher rates very highly.
The Reds could be in need of a marquee signing in the attacking department this summer amid doubts over the future of Luis Diaz.
As such, potential replacements are being explored, and Liverpool have now made contact to enquire about one of Europe’s most exciting talents…
Liverpool make Khvicha Kvaratskhelia enquiry
TBR Football understand that Liverpool have been in touch with Napoli to ask about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgia international has developed into an elite talent ever since moving from Dinamo Batumi in July 2022 for a sum of just £9m – scoring 25 goals while also providing 26 assists in 88 appearances for Napoli so far.
Sources inform TBR Football that Liverpool have asked the Italian giants about signing Kvaratskhelia this summer amid plenty of movement on the Georgian’s side.
The Napoli No.77’s agent – Mamuka Jugelihas – has just said he and his client would ideally like to leave Naples.
However, TBR Football understand Napoli told Liverpool – as well as Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City – that the man from Tiflis is going nowhere this summer.
The Serie A outfit have since released the same message in an official statement.
TBR Football are aware that Liverpool will now drop interest in Kvaratskhelia unless the situation changes, as the Reds do not want to waste time.
That news is sure to disappoint the aforementioned Carragher, who said back in March 2023 when speaking about the 23-year-old on CBS Sports: “For me, I think… the most exciting player in Europe.”
Michael Edwards has an alternative
Liverpool could make a headline signing this summer, as Kvaratskhelia is not the only elite winger Michael Edwards – CEO of Football at Anfield – has moved for.
A story from SPORT in Spain recently claimed that approaches have been made to sign Real Madrid No.11 Rodrygo Goes this summer, a forward who also tends to cut inside from the left onto his right foot like the Napoli star does.
The Spanish news outlet even wrote that Liverpool have put an £84m offer on the table.
