TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Manchester United scouted Francisco Trincao and Xavi Simons during RB Leipzig’s 2-1 win against Sporting CP in the Champions League on Wednesday.

It looks like several incomings and outgoings could occur at Manchester United as they try to build the best-possible squad for Ruben Amorim to manage.

Sources told TBR Football that Manchester United are confident about signing Patrick Dorgu.

On the outgoings front, Alejandro Garnacho fancies a move to Napoli while Marcus Rashford would like to join Barcelona.

If the Red Devils manage to sell arguably two of their most important attackers in Rashford and Garnacho, they will have to find ways to replace the exit-linked pair.

Manchester United scout Francisco Trincao and Xavi Simons

Sources have informed TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey that Manchester United were on a scouting mission in the Red Bull Arena as a plethora of their transfer targets were on the pitch.

TBR Football understands that Trincao was the prime focus of United’s trip to Germany.

The Portuguese forward was prolific under Ruben Amorim at Sporting as well, registering 50 goal contributions (23 goals and 27 assists) in all competitions.

It has been clarified to TBR Football that United have been doing work on signing the former Wolves attacker since before Ruben Amorim’s appointment last year.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been interested in Simons since July, whose performance against Sporting was closely analysed as well.

In addition, the likes of Maxi Araujo, Geovany Quenda, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, players who the English giants have closely watched for months were also involved in the contest.

Francisco Trincao and Xavi Simons stats this season

After his side’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion, Ruben Amorim made headlines in his post-match press conference by admitting that they are “the worst Manchester United team in history.”

United will certainly be hoping that Amorim is handed the players who can fit his 3-4-3 tactical setup as they hope to rediscover their former glory under the Portuguese tactician.

Here is a look at Trincao and Simons’ respective statistics across all competitions this season as both players do interest Manchester United.
