Tottenham completely fell apart this weekend as they were beaten by Brighton at the Amex.

Spurs found themselves two goals up at half-time but once again, they threw things away with a woeful second 45 minutes.

Ange Postecoglou was furious afterwards and called out his players for thinking they'd got the job done.

For Tottenham fans, it was yet another reminder of the inconsistencies that continue to plague the club at first-team level and gives opposing fans the ideal chance to bring up the now widely used 'Spursy' term.

And speaking about Tottenham and their collapse, Richard Keys has suggested that things don't ever seem to change with them.

Richard Keys brings up Alex Ferguson comment in slating Tottenham

Writing in his weekly blog, Keys has said he thought Tottenham had finally got things right but harped back to an Alex Ferguson comment of them never winning a title.

"What's going on at Spurs? Not only did they make complete fools of themselves at Brighton – they did me as well. I really enjoyed watching them in the first 45 at the Amex and said so on beIN SPORTS,” Keys said.

"They were good. And on the back of the win at Old Trafford I found myself thinking they might just have got it right at long last.

"But oh no. The wheels came off again second half in a very Spursy way. What is it about them? No wonder big Ange couldn't take his eyes off the floor when he spoke afterwards!

"At best – they might win another cup one day, but it looks as though Fergie was right all those years ago – they'll never win the title again."

Same old Tottenham

It must be so, so frustrating to be a Tottenham fan and see how one week they look the business and the next, they fall apart.

Right now, though, that is Ange Postecoglou's job to sort out.

The Aussie has work on his hands to turn things around and with two weeks to dwell on things, Tottenham's players know they must be better.
