Preston North End have again been linked with Daniel Iversen but his wages mean a deal won’t come cheap, as per Alan Nixon.

Preston North End are heading for another season of Championship football. PNE are 17th in the table and not yet mathematically safe from relegation but are confident their current points tally will be enough to keep them afloat.

A big summer lays ahead at Deepdale though, with Paul Heckingbottom eager to rebuild his ranks and make a real impact in his first full summer window at the helm.

One position where change looks likely is in goal. PNE have been linked with a new number one in the form of ex-loan star Daniel Iversen and rumours resurfaced over the weekend.

Writing on his Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon revealed Preston North End are interested in bringing Iversen back for a permanent stint after his two successful loans as Freddie Woodman looks poised to head for the exit.

Iversen’s contract at Leicester City is expiring, meaning no transfer fee would be involved. However, Nixon warns that deal will not come cheap given the Danish shot-stopper’s wages.

PNE may well be willing to push the boat out for the 27-year-old though as they line up potential Woodman replacements at Deepdale. Iversen is down the pecking order at Leicester and seems destined for a move elsewhere.
