Chelsea’s start to the new Premier League season can be best described as organised chaos, with the Blues looking good under Enzo Maresca.

The former Leicester City manager has struck a chord with his Chelsea players with the Blues heading into the international break in fourth place ahead of the likes of Aston Villa, Totttenham and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Although Sunday’s 1-1 draw away to Nottingham Forest was a frustrating result for Chelsea, many Stamford Bridge supporters will be pleased with how the west London side have started the new season under Maresca.

And Gary Lineker now thinks one Chelsea star is amongst the best in the world.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer ranked amongst the best in the world

Speaking on the Rest is Football, Lineker showered Cole Palmer with praise after the Chelsea attacking midfielder’s performance against Forest, where the 22-year-old assisted Noni Madueke a week after scoring four against Brighton.

With six goals and five assists in all competitions, Palmer has picked up where he left off last season as the former Manchester City academy star established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League and a talisman for Chelsea.

And for Lineker, Palmer should now be considered one of the best players in the world since moving to Chelsea, with the England international comfortably one of the most efficient attackers in the Premier League in the last 12 months.

Lineker said when asked about Palmer’s form: "They (Chelsea) have already got someone special in Cole Palmer. Six goals, five assists already this season. He is right up there with the best players in the world at the moment. I mean, we get carried away with these things, but what a talent."

Palmer’s Chelsea form could soon make pundits speechless

Palmer was the breakout player in the Premier League last season, with the £40m signing from City scoring an incredible 27 goals in all competitions coupled with 15 assists, with the youngster also scoring in the Euro 2024 final for England.

And this season has seen Palmer maintain his incredible form from last year, with the Chelsea star one of the best in the Premier League and once again making the likes of Lineker speechless with his performances under Maresca.

Indeed, Palmer is well on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world, and Chelsea fans will hope the 22-year-old can play a key role in getting the Blues back into the UEFA Champions League at long last.
