'Horrible': Troy Deeney tells Tottenham why Tamworth in the FA Cup will be 'everything that Spurs don't like'

Tottenham Hotspur are in FA Cup third-round action this weekend when they head to Tamworth FC on Sunday.
All eyes will be on the 12:30pm kick-off at the Lamb Ground as neutrals will hope for a classic third-round giant-killing.
Tottenham go into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, but they’ve been beset by injuries and inconsistency this season.
Meanwhile, Tamworth currently sit 16th in the National League, having last won just before Christmas.
Troy Deeney has now given his thoughts on the fixture between Tamworth and Spurs, explaining why the stage is set for a FA Cup giant killing.
Troy Deeney says Tamworth pitch is ‘horrible’ and team are ‘really good at set pieces’
Deeney, speaking to The Joy of Football, said Tottenham will hate playing at Tamworth because the pitch is “horrible” and “on a slant”.
In addition, the team boasts a long-throw specialist in Tom Tonks and they’re “really good at set pieces”, suggesting “this is the game” that’ll end in a giant killing.

“Tamworth – I’m going to the game on Sunday,” began Deeney.
“Tamworth getting Spurs at the Lamb is perfect – everything that Spurs don’t like.
“It’s a horrible pitch, it’s on a slant, they’ve got a long throw, they are really good at set pieces…
“It’s just set up that this is the game that we’re all watching at the weekend and go ‘oh my god, Tamworth got into the fourth round’ – I think it’s brilliant.”
Tamworth v Tottenham match facts
Sunday’s game will be the fourth time that Tamworth will compete in the FA Cup third round, having reached this stage in 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2011-12.
It will be the second time that Tamworth have taken on a top-flight side, the first time coming in 2011-12 when they lost 2-0 against David Moyes' Everton.
The omens for Tottenham are good, as they have progressed from each of their last nine FA Cup ties against non-league opponents.
In addition, Spurs have progressed from 17 of their last 18 FA Cup third-round ties.
