Hull Citycould face interest from some fellow Championship sides in the player this summer. He is under contract with HCAFC until June 2026 and they hold an option to extend his stay by 12 months on top of that.

Slater, 25, has made 42 appearances in all competitions this season, 40 of which have come in the league. He has chipped in with one goal and one assist.

He has had this to say about his future, as per a report by HullLive: “Nothing’s been said to me; there’s nothing that I know about. Probably everyone has speculation and little whispers going on, but there’s nothing’s actually in stone now. We’ve got big games to concentrate on, and I want to make sure we’re not in League One next year.”

He added: “If it were set in stone, then, yes, but they’re just rumours and everyone talks, so it’s nothing to get excited about. We’ve got massive games to be concentrating on, and we need to make sure we stay out of that bottom three. Yes (I see my future here), I’ve still got a year left here and an option after that, so I don’t see why not.”
