Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their attempts to bolster Ange Postecoglou's squad ahead of pre-season.

Spurs have entered talks to snap up Leeds United starlet Archie Gray after his move to Brentford has fallen through.

Tottenham are currently locked in talks with Leeds over a move for Gray and will be hoping to wrap up a deal, with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea also said to be keen.

Should the youngster make the switch to north London, he would become Tottenham's first permanent signing of the summer after extending Timo Werner's loan by a further year.

And as Spurs ramp up their activity in the transfer window, James Maddison has been spotted preparing for the new season alongside one of their reported targets.

Maddison training with Morgan Gibbs-White

With Ange Postecoglou searching for added quality in midfield, Morgan Gibbs-White has been heavily linked with a switch to north London.

It was claimed back in March that Spurs are eyeing a move for Gibbs-White ahead of the summer.

Now, it would appear that the Nottingham Forest star is preparing for the new season alongside Maddison.

In a post on coach BAStraining's Instagram, the duo can be spotted being put through their paces. Both Maddison and Gibbs-White were involved in a ball work exercise together while another video shows the Tottenham star finding the top corner with a free-kick.

Tottenham focusing on other targets

Despite strong links to Gibbs-White ahead of the summer, it would seem that Spurs are focusing on other targets for the time being.

Reports have claimed that Postecoglou's side launched a bid to sign Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey while they continue to be linked with a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.

However, should Tottenham fail to land either Ramsey or Gallagher, it will be intriguing to see if they reignite their interest in Gibbs-White.

The 'special' midfielder has starred for Forest since his switch to the City Ground from Wolves back in the summer of 2022.

Having racked up 11 assists and 18 goals over the past two seasons, it's easy to see why he's attracting interest from a host of top Premier League sides.
