Arsenal continued their winning ways this weekend as they saw off Southampton thanks to an inspired second half from Bukayo Saka.

Saka scored and set up two as the Gunners came from behind to win yet again and keep up their push to be title contenders.

Of course, Saka has been the star man for Arsenal for some time now and in a team full of stars, he often stands out.

Saka has already registered seven assists this season as he continues to shine.

However, while his goal involvements are impressive, Alan Shearer has picked out another aspect of Saka's game that needs a mention.

Alan Shearer impressed by Bukayo Saka’s resilience

Speaking on the latest episode of the Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer lauded Saka.

And he praised how the Arsenal winger never backs away despite being fouled and kicked plenty of times during games.

"I mean, he's just an incredible player. Left foot, right foot, attitude, but you know what, it's also, he gets kicked every single week and he just goes back for more, and he never shirks a challenge," Shearer said.

"He's just a phenomenal footballer."

Saka's performance won him praise off Mikel Arteta at full time, while Jason Cundy also praised Saka's influence from wide areas.

Saka one of the best around

While Arsenal fans have been crying out for a player in the number nine position in recent transfer windows, but all the while Bukayo Saka has continued to excel.

This weekend against Southampton was just yet another example of how good and how important Saka is to this Arsenal team.

Teams that win titles often have a couple of individuals who can get them out of the mire in certain games.

Saka is that man for Arsenal and as Shearer says here, his resilience is seriously impressive.
