Man United to battle it out with Man City for wide player with 26-G/A last season

Manchester United are keen on signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on signing the 23-year-old defender and they will battle it out with cross-town rivals Manchester City for his signature.
The Dutch international defender was outstanding for the German club last season and he picked up 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He is reportedly a priority target for Pep Guardiola and Manchester United are expected to provide intense competition for him.
Manchester United already have Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui at their disposal and signing another right-back would be a surprising decision for the Red Devils. That said, there is no doubt that Frimpong is an exceptional talent who could improve them immensely. He is significantly better than their current full-back options going forward. He could add a new dimension to their attack.
Can Man United get the deal done for Jeremie Frimpong?
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United come forward with an offer to sign the defender in January. The German club will not want to lose a key player like him midway through the season and the Red Devils might have to offer a premium in order to change their mind.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for the 23-year-old, and he will look to test himself at a higher level. He has shown his quality in the Bundesliga and he has the attributes to succeed in the Premier League as well. He will look to establish himself as a key player for either of the two Manchester clubs.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. Both clubs will be attractive destinations for him, and they have the financial resources to get the deal done as well.
