Manchester United are ready to offer a deal to out-of-contract Preston North End ‘keeper Freddie Woodman, as per Football Insider.
Preston North End are yet to confirm their Championship status next season. PNE risk being punished for their dismal form over recent months as those below pick up valuable wins in their relegation battle.
The Lilywhites are now only three points above the bottom three and 18th in the Championship table, so nerves are jangling somewhat ahead of the final two games of the campaign.
However, eyes have been on an important summer window for a while now, with incomings and outgoings expected at Deepdale. One man increasingly likely to leave Preston North End is Freddie Woodman, with his deal expiring this summer.
Manchester United have previously been linked as they eye a new homegrown cover goalkeeper and fresh claims over their interest in the PNE man have emerged from Football Insider.
They claim that the Red Devils are ready to make an offer to sign Woodman once his Preston deal comes to a close.
Work is ongoing to get the signing done as the 28-year-old prepares for free agency. It might not be long that he’s without a club though with Man Utd primed to swoop in.
