The January transfer window will open in a few weeks' time, and Arsenal are already looking at potential targets.
One of the players Arsenal are keen on signing is striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.
The Gunners have scouted Randal Kolo Muani as well. Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson is also on the radar of Arsenal.
Arsenal are looking at the South American market for young and promising players too.
According to CaughtOffSide, Sao Paulo wonderkid William Gomes has caught the attention of the Arsenal scouts.
Arsenal face Chelsea competition for William Gomes
Gomes can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. Sao Paulo believes that the 18-year-old Brazilian could be snapped up by a club in Europe soon.
CaughtOffSide has noted that "Arsenal and Chelsea are showing the strongest interest for the moment", adding that scouts from the two Premier League clubs have been impressed with the teenager and have given positive feedback to their respective bosses.
Gomes is rated very highly, with Under-23 Football Scout Antonio Mango raving about his dribbling quality and describing him as "frightening".
The teenager has made three starts and four substitute appearances in the Brasileiro so far this season. He has scored two goals in those games.
Newcastle United have also been linked with William Gomes
Arsenal and Chelsea seem to have come late to the party in regard to the signing of Gomes.
In October 2024, Globo Esporte reported that Newcastle United have already held talks with Sao Paulo about Gomes.
The report noted that the teenager has a release clause of £100 million in his contract.
It is hard to see any club pay £100 million for the 18-year-old, but with so much interest in Gomes, Sao Paulo are going to make sure that they get as much as possible in transfer fees for him.
