Liverpool are raring to go following the international break as they return to Premier League action against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Reds have won their last six games in a row in all competitions and sit top of the Premier League table on 18 points.

Liverpool will be up against a Chelsea side in fine form, sitting fourth in the table and losing just one league game this season – to Manchester City.

Worryingly for the Reds, they may go into the game missing a few key players, including one who only took part in gym training on Friday.

Alexis Mac Allister not seen in Liverpool team training

The player in question is Alexis Mac Allister, who was involved in international action for Argentina this month despite suffering an adductor complaint in the Crystal Palace game.

Mac Allister started the 6-0 win over Bolivia in the early hours of Thursday morning after sitting out the clash with Venezuela earlier in the week.

The “unbelievable” midfielder played for 66 minutes before being withdrawn for Roma’s Leandro Paredes.

However, the Liverpool Echo noted how Mac Allister was absent from team training at the AXA Training Centre on Friday.

“It’s understood Mac Allister took part in a gym session instead, away from his colleagues as he works towards a return to full training, meaning he is now a doubt for Chelsea,” wrote Paul Gorst.

Kostas Tsimikas and Federico Chiesa also absent

The Echo also noted how Kostas Tsimikas was also absent from training as he continues to recuperate from an illness.

The Liverpool full-back sat out Greece’s win over England at Wembley during the international break and wasn’t spotted in Friday’s session at the AXA Training Centre.

As per the article, Federico Chiesa appeared to miss the session too as he continues to work towards his own comeback.

The Italy international missed the trip to Palace and the Champions League victory at home to Bologna at the start of October.
