Tottenham Hotspur’s damaging 2-1 defeat against Leicester City did not do much to quieten the noise around Ange Postecoglou’s future.

TBR Football’s most recent update around the Tottenham boss’ future in N17 was that Daniel Levy had no plans to sack Postecoglou.

But at the end of the day, football is a results business and a team of the Lilywhites’ stature should be nowhere near 15th place after 23 Premier League games.

Jamie O’Hara feels Tottenham should sack Ange Postecoglou and several Spurs fans might be starting to feel the same.

However, Daniel Levy’s stance that the pundit will not be granted his wish.

Ange Postecoglou brought a fresh footballing identity typified by free-flowing style of play in his debut season but his side no longer play the same attractive brand of football — struggling not just defensively but often offensively as well.

Ange Postecoglou told he should be sacked if Tottenham suffer Carabao Cup exit vs Liverpool

Injuries have certainly played a part in Spurs’ decline, with an unfit Pape Sarr starting against Leicester City.

Heung-min Son played down Tottenham’s relegation fears but their recent result highlights that this team is clearly not fit for purpose and a bottom-half finish in the league looks like a distinct possibility this season.

Jamie O’Hara feels that if Spurs lose to Liverpool and are subsequently eliminated out of the Carabao Cup in the second leg of the semi-final, Ange Postecoglou should be sacked.

O’Hara wrote on X: “We are in terrible state, these players are better than 15th, don't care how many injuries, we are so open it's embarrassing.”

“The manager said we had loads of chances. No, we didn't, we were terrible, give him the Liverpool game, lose, sack him straight after and have someone lined up.”

Ange Postecoglou wishes to stay at Tottenham, as he suggested by admitting that he hopes he is still the Spurs manager to benefit from teenage sensations like Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray potentially becoming top players one day.

But judging by the Lilywhites’ recent string of results, that seems like a pipe dream unless things take a turn for the better.

Jamie O’Hara says Tottenham’s injury crisis does not excuse results

Jamie O’Hara went on to claim that Tottenham’s injuries do not excuse some of their defeats this season.

“Lost to Ipswich, palace and Brighton with these players, stop blaming the injuries, yes they’re an issue but we've been terrible when we've had our strongest team too, need to wake up. Manager and players ain't good enough.”

However, it looks like even some of Tottenham’s starters are tired due to having to play game after game in a space of a few days.

Dejan Kulusevski looked exhausted against Leicester City in what was a quiet display from Spurs’ most in-form player this season.

However, where one might find it a challenge to disagree with Jamie O’Hara is that Tottenham’s starting line-ups were at the level to defeat both Everton and Leicester.

Tottenham could make new signings in January, which should make life easier for Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou will be hoping that unlike Jose Mourinho, who was sacked days before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City in 2021, he is given the chance to manage Spurs against Liverpool.
