Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is currently sidelined with an injury and the defender is expected to return to action after the international break in October.

Manchester United will return to action against Brentford on 19th October, and it is fair to assume that the 29-year-old left-back will return to action then. He is currently sidelined with a knock and Manchester United have certainly missed him.

Erik ten Hag has claimed: "I can't say for certain. The plan is to be back before, but I can't be 100 per cent sure. It could be shortly after the break."

Erik ten Hag asked if Luke Shaw will be back from injury by the October international break:

The former Southampton defender has had his fair share of injury problems ever since he moved to Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if he can get over his injury nightmare and help Manchester United do well this season.

There is no doubt that he is a quality player when he is fit and firing. He could make a huge difference for the Red Devils if he can stay fit for the remainder of the season. Manchester United will be hoping to challenge for league titles and domestic trophies. They need their quality players fit and available in order to scale greater heights.

Can Luke Shaw get back to his best?

Meanwhile, the injury problem with Shaw will be quite frustrating given the ability he has. He could be one of the best left-backs in the country if he had not suffered from persistent injury problems.

The defender will be desperate to get his career back on track as well, and it remains to be seen whether he can return to action quickly.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will take on FC Twente in the Europa League tomorrow and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday. They have made a mediocre start to the season and it remains to be seen whether they can bounce back strongly.
