Son Heung-min did not travel with the Tottenham Hotspur squad to face Manchester United on Sunday evening at Old Trafford.

Although not necessarily a traditional derby, the meetings between Spurs and Manchester United in recent history have been extremely entertaining with both sides always playing for the win.

This Sunday is expected to be no different with both sides sitting in mid-table after a very disappointing and underwhelming start to the new Premier League season.

But Tottenham fans were hit with a hammer blow after the teams announced that star forward Son was not included in the squad at all after reportedly picking up an injury.

"He just wasn't right for today so we go in without him. We've had those things a fair bit. We just have to learn to cope without." The Australian manager said prior to kick-off.

The South Korean attacker has carried the Spurs attack for seasons, especially last campaign after Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich coupled with their injuries to Richarlison.

In his stead, Timo Werner started out on the left-hand side with Dominic Solanke up top and Brennan Johnson out on the right-hand side.
