'We were': Marco Silva explains why Fulham were so much better than 'lucky' Man United despite 1-0 defeat

Fulham manager Marco Silva admitted that he was seriously frustrated not to beat Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
Despite Fulham's chances, Manchester United conducted something of a 'smash and grab' job courtesy of Lisandro Martinez's deflected winner.
Ruben Amorim's side were able to keep a rare clean sheet away from home and United gained some valuable points in their quest not to be lingering around in the bottom half of the table.
After the result, United are now only four points behind Fulham who are 10th after 23 games played.
That being said, Silva didn't appear to think that United deserved anything from the game, let alone all three points.
Marco Silva thinks Fulham ‘dominated’ Man United despite losing
Speaking to TNT Sports after full-time, Silva labelled United's goal as 'lucky' and didn't hold back in explaining how Fulham dominated their opponents.
Fulham had the better chances in the game, but Andre Onana ultimately wasn't forced into too many important saves, with the likes of Rodrigo Muniz proving very wasteful.

Silva said: "Frustration really with the result. Overall, in the game we deserved more and should have taken more from the game.
“One shot on target from Man Utd – a lucky deflection. We were the team that dominated more. We had two or three good moments to score, but I don’t remember one dangerous moment from Man Utd.
“In the first half we were the better team, but in the second half it was more balanced. The game was a bit more balanced, and I wanted us to get on the front foot – a really lucky goal from them.
“After that, the reaction had to come from us, and they sat back with 10 players around the box. The level we are playing at we have to be clinical – if we don’t, it is going to be difficult to win.
“It was not a good night for our attacking players. Let’s hope in the next game it will be better.”
Ruben Amorim spots room for improvement despite beating Fulham
Of course, United will just be happy that they were able to hold firm at the back and take all three points.
In truth, Amorim's side have looked at their most impressive under their new boss whilst they are sitting in and defending a lead, a strength they also showed away to Arsenal.
That being said, Amorim noticed what United were missing against Fulham, a performance that the Portuguese manager will want to improve on, even if they did win.
In terms of Fulham, Silva's side have now passed up the chance to make the most of some 'winnable' games at Craven Cottage of late judging by their league position.
Fulham also failed to beat Southampton and Ipswich Town at home recently, two teams beneath them in the league, explaining why dreams of a European spot this season might be beyond Silva's team.
