'Wow': Glenn Hoddle shares what he thinks would happen if Ruben Amorim managed Liverpool instead of Man Utd

Ruben Amorim's start to life at Manchester United has been utterly abysmal.
Manchester United lost again when they faced Brighton at the weekend, and United are firmly in the bottom-half of the table.

Relegation has been discussed as a real threat at Old Trafford, and while that is unlikely, the fact that those conversations can even happen is embarrassing.
Ruben Amorim doesn't look up to the job so far, but speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Glenn Hoddle has jumped to the defence of the United boss.
Indeed, according to Hoddle, Amorim would be hailed as a top coach if he was working at a more stable club, naming Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal as examples.
Glenn Hoddle says Ruben Amorim would succeed at Liverpool or Arsenal
Hoddle spoke about Amorim, claiming that he would make his system work if he was at a club like Liverpool or Arsenal.
Interestingly, Amorim was linked to Liverpool before the Reds hired Arne Slot, while Amorim was also linked to West Ham in the summer.
"I think if he goes into a Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal or even Newcastle, his system he would make it work and we'd all say 'wow, what a good coach.'," Hoddle said.
At the moment it's not going to work at Manchestewr United and that's why I think he wanted to come in next season, he wanted to get these plans, but you know, it's an experiment for him. He's thinkning who he's going to keep, it isn't his squad, he's inherited this squad."
How Liverpool would look under Ruben Amorim
Hoddle says that Amorim's system would work if he was the Liverpool manager, and that is easy to visualise.
Indeed, Liverpool's players actually fit quite nicely into a Ruben Amorim 3-4-3.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are two almost perfect wing-back options, while Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz would be very interesting to watch as the two tucked in attacking midfield options.
Darwin Nunez would make for a great Amorim striker, he's fast, strong and full of energy, just like Viktor Gyokeres, who succeeded for Amorim at Sporting.
As for the midfield, Ryan Gravenberch could play the role that Joao Palhinha did at Sporting a number of years ago, while Alexis Mac Allister is a Swiss army knife of a player who can almost do anything.
Of course, Arne Slot has earned huge plaudits this season, and his job shouldn't be underestimated, but it has to be said that Slot had a much softer landing at Anfield than Amorim has had at Old Trafford.
