Loan Watch: First-Team & Academy Players In Action

As the 2024/25 season passes the midway point, we've taken a look at how the Hornets who are out on loan have been getting on.

Jorge Hurtado

The young Colombian has been enjoying his time out in Greece, where he is playing for PAOK B in Super League Greece 2.

Hurtado has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 13 appearances, but was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 3-0 win over AO Kavala.

Mileta Rajović

The 25-year-old striker is currently in the midst of a mid-season break with Danish Superliga side Bröndby IF, and was training at London Colney to maintain his fitness.

The team are beginning to ramp up their preparations for their return, with Bröndby set to take part in The Atlantic Cup, a tournament held in Portugal for clubs with a mid-season break.

His side return to league action on February 14, when Rajović will look to add to his six goals in 12 matches.

João Ferreira

The Portuguese defender has been a key member of SC Braga’s side, both in the league and in Europe.

Along with his 13 appearances in Liga Portugal, Ferreira has started all six of the side’s matches in the Europa League.

Antonio Tikvić

The 20-year-old signed for Grazer AK during their mid-season break, with the team not in league action until February 8.

The centre-back could make his unofficial debut for the Austrian Bundesliga side on Saturday in the home friendly against second-tier outfit Kapfenberger.

Jack Grieves

The Academy graduate is continuing to develop under the guidance of former Watford midfielder Don Cowie at Ross County.

Grieves provided an assist off the bench in their recent Scottish Cup defeat to Livingston, and has started three of their last five league matches.

He will be looking to add to his four assists in 18 appearances when County host Hibernian on Saturday. 

Michael Adu-Poku

The 19-year-old is continuing to impress at National League side Solihull Moors, where he has made 13 appearances to date.

This includes one goal and two assists in the league, but the forward has not featured since being taken off with an injury early in the Boxing Day win at Boston United.

Josh Mullins

The defender has been featuring regularly for Bedford Town since he joined the Southern League Premier Central side for a second stint this season in late November.

The latest of his 12 appearances for the Eagles this campaign came in Tuesday night’s 1-0 away win over Stourbridge, with the side sat second in the league.

Alistair Gould

One of three loanees currently with Kings Langley, the young defender has been a regular in their defence since signing at the end of November.

Making seven appearances so far for the Southern League Division One Central outfit, he has played the full 90 in each match, scoring once.

Bentley Assiedou

Another out on loan with Kings Langley, the forward has played six times since joining the side in early December.

He scored his first goals in the Southern League Division One Central on Tuesday, netting a brace in the 4-0 win over Leverstock Green.

Jonathan Lawson

The final of the three with Kings Langley, the 19-year-old has certainly been enjoying his time playing alongside his Watford team-mates at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium.

Since joining in late December, the striker has three goals and one assist in his four appearances for the side so far.

James Clarridge

The 20-year-old has been furthering his development in the National League South, playing for fellow Hertfordshire outfit St Albans City.

After joining in early December, the defender has featured seven times, including in their recent 1-1 draw against promotion-chasing Torquay United on Tuesday.

George Abbott 

The defender, who spent time earlier this season with Hendon, joined Potters Bar Town on Friday January 18 in time for their weekend clash against Chatham Town.

The Welsh youth international hit the ground running in the heart of defence, helping the Scholars keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win on Sunday in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Roraigh Browne

The South African shotstopper is now in his fourth loan spell of the season, playing for Hendon in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

He has featured once so far after joining in mid-January, playing in the home defeat to Carshalton Athletic.

Sam Morris

With Browne currently unwell, it has offered Under-18s keeper Morris the opportunity to gain some experience of men’s football with the same club.

He made his debut on Tuesday night in the Middlesex Senior Cup as Hendon lost 3-2 to Rayners Lane at home.

Prince Sikiru

It was straight into action for the Irish youngster after his move to Grays Athletic was announced on Tuesday.

The forward made his debut that same evening, playing 90 minutes in the 3-1 away win over Felixstowe & Walton United in the Isthmian League North.
