Watford FC confirms that goalkeeper Myles Roberts has joined Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle on a season-long loan, as well as adding the option of an additional year to his current contract.
The 22-year-old will continue his development north of the border after previous successful spells with Wingate & Finchley, Concord Rangers and Welling United, with the shot stopper earning the Manager's Player of the Year award for the 2022/23 campaign at the latter.
Roberts joined Watford's Academy in January 2020 from Reading, and made his maiden appearance on the first-team bench for the Sky Bet Championship clash away at Coventry City in April 2023.
He spent the majority of last season training with the senior squad and earned further call-ups to the first-team bench.
Thistle finished third in the second-tier of Scottish football last season and reached the Premiership play-off semi-finals, losing on penalties to Raith Rovers with the sides locked at 3-3 on aggregate after two legs.
As a result, the team are preparing for their fourth successive Championship campaign after being promoted as League One champions in 2020/21.
Roberts' current deal still expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, but can now be extended with the new option of an additional year.
Good luck in Scotland, Myles!
