£25m West Ham flop offered escape route as Dutch side show interest

Feyenoord have renewed their interest in West Ham United youngster Luis Guilherme, according to soccernews.nl.
West Ham forked out £25 million to sign Guilherme from Palmeiras last summer in an ill-advised move that has come back to haunt the Hammers.
Since joining the club, Guilherme has barely gotten a chance to impress in the first team, and each time he got a nod, he looked way out of his depth.
He has only played eight times for the Hammers and has 50 minutes of Premier League football under his belt.
Even with the club’s ongoing injury crisis in the attacking areas, Guilherme has struggled to convince new head coach Graham Potter that he deserves to be on the pitch.
It’s no surprise that West Ham are keen to cut him loose this summer, but he may have found an escape route, with Feyenoord willing to take a chance on him.
The Dutch club tried to sign Guilherme in January, but a deal never materialised.

However, their interest in the Hammers flop never waned, and they’re back to the negotiating table, hoping to get a deal over the line this time around.
Feyenoord are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing the 19-year-old on an initial season-long loan move but will retain an option to make his transfer permanent.
West Ham are eager to get rid of the Brazilian winger, but it remains to be seen if both clubs can find common ground on the terms of a potential transfer, especially with the Hammers demanding a premium fee.
West Ham are not prepared to cut their losses on Guilherme and are instead looking to recoup their initial investment in the winger.
They’re demanding £25m (€30m), but Feyenoord are refusing to match their valuation, which is why they’re prioritising a loan deal.
A loan deal also works for West Ham. If Guilherme somehow puts his talents to good use in Eredivisie, it could boost his resale value.
Either way, shipping him off opens up space in the Hammers squad ahead of a potential overhaul in the summer.
